Rugby Christchurch RFC 1XV v Ventnor RFC 1XV 21 October 2023
In the second of the day when travelled over to Christchurch RFC for a doubleheader for Christchurch RFC and Ventnor RFC was the 1XV game of Christchurch RFC 1XV v Ventnor RFC 1XV in the Counties 3 Hampshire league game of 2023-24.
This followed the Christchurch RFC 2XV v Ventnor RFC 2XV 21 October 2023, which I also photographed.
With the skies having opened with a downpour in the first half of the 2XV game, this made for a wet and muddy pitch, but was a challenge keeping the camera equipment dry. Gradually the rain eased through the game making the rugby photography a little easier, whilst I was dry under the hastily erected rugby photography bivvy shelter.
The final score for this Counties 3 Hampshire league 2023-24 game was a resounding win for Christchurch RFC 1XV 52-0.
The Isle of Wight rugby photos edit from this game, showed I had managed to create some great rugby images that I am very pleased with, in this particularly challenging rugby match during the often very wet and variable light levels throughout the game, which will form part of the growing Isle of Wight Rugby Photos Archive.
